Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Blend a simple smoothie with traditional, tasty flavors. Strawberries and Bananas infuse a perfect blend of fruity berry and creamy banana. Kids think it’s a milkshake, but we know better! It’s simple, pure, and a healthy treat- as well as delicious! Buster may think it looks yummy, but I wouldn’t recommend this for our dogs.


  • 2 cups chopped fresh strawberries

  • 1 banana, peeled

  • 10 ounces Vanilla nonfat yogurt

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 cup crushed ice


Electric blender, sharp knife to slice strawberries and bananas, measuring cup, tall glasses, straws. Prep: 12 min Cook: 3 min in blender Ready: 15 min Serves: 4


Before you handle any food, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Clean your kitchen work area and pull back your hair or wear a cap. You want to avoid contaminating your meal with harmful bacteria that could cause food illness.



To make Strawberry Banana Smoothies: 1. Place strawberries, banana, milk, and yogurt in blender container. 2. Blend on high for a few minutes until fruit is well blended. 3. Add ice and sugar; blend on high for a few minutes until ice is well blended. 4. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.



1 8 oz drink: 140 calories, 3 g fat (0 saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 5 mg sodium, 35 g carbohydrate (25 g sugars, 3 g fiber), 0 protein.


Vegan-friendly Smoothie. Replace whole milk with Almond or Coconut milk. Replace nonfat yogurt with coconut milk yogurt or vegan-friendly alternative.

Kick out the GLUTS by ensuring your yogurt does not contain gluten; some yogurt brands contain whey in their ingredients.

Protein Power Smoothie. Increase protein by replacing low-fat yogurt with Greek yogurt. Add protein powder as directed on label.

Reduce fat by using 2% or nonfat skim milk and ensure you use nonfat yogurt.

Sugar Free Smoothie. Use sugar free yogurt and sugar substitute as a sweetener.

Smoothie Deluxe. Add whipped cream and either a cherry or sprinkles on top.

Strawberry, Peaches, and Banana Smoothie. Add 1/4 cup of sliced peaches with the fruit.

Side Dish pairing: Serve with French fries or potato wedges.
